VB-Bootcamp

How does our Venture Building
Bootcamp work?

  • Step 1Initial VRL Assessment

At the first step, we will conduct an initial assessment to measure the venture readiness level of each team. It will help us recognize and identify the gaps that each team needs to focus on improving. In addition, it will help us to customize the venture-building journey based on each team's readiness level. The assessment itself will be done in two parts. Part one includes an awareness and presentation session where teams learn about the detailed curriculum of the Bootcamp. We also identify if the idea fits the Canadian innovation ecosystem, team, market, and tech/product. Part two includes a two-hour detailed assessment session based on our checklist (12 criteria) where teams present their product/service. Our assessors will interview and score them on each criterion. At the end of these two sessions, a VRL score will be assigned to each team, and we will decide on the eligible teams to enroll in the Bootcamp.
  • Step 2Hybrid Bootcamp (Virtual Training & Workshop)

Enrolled teams will be trained and mentored through a combination of online training/mentoring sessions (five sessions, each session four hours) and offline teamwork sessions focused on data gathering, business plan preparation, and pitch deck drafting. Five sessions will cover venture building basics, including problem statement, customer validation, solution development, problem/solution fit, business model design, market research, industry/competitors development, minimum viable product, marketing plan, go-to-market strategy, etc. Our team will help the startups to complete the above milestones and mentor the teams.
  • Step 3Demo Day

The third part of the program will take place in Istanbul (Istanbul Technical University or Boğaziçi University campuses) and consists of a three-day program. Each day will include 10 hours of physical presence at the event venue. In this step, we will train and mentor the teams on their pitch presentation and negotiation (soft skills development) and educate them on the Canadian innovation ecosystem and business landscape. The startups that already passed the three weeks of Bootcamp will spend the first two days of training (by Aurora Ventures representative) and personal mentoring with one of our team members. The final 10 hours (third day) is dedicated to the final pitch by startups that will lead to selection by Angel investors and Aurora Venture representatives for the business incubation that will receive LOS and startup team transition to Canada.
